I have always found it easier to increase my activity rather than trying to starve myself. And I don't mean running marathons, just doing housework more often, parking the car further away, going for a walk every day - no matter if it's only a 10 or 15 minute walk. Any chance to move more helps, even shaking your leg while sitting.

As for eating just try to eat healthy, but do not deny yourself reasonable portions of things you like. Reasonable being the key word. Eat smaller portions and smaller meals but eat them every 2 - 3 hours, if constant hunger is a problem. If real hunger is not a problem then when you get the urge to eat even though you aren't really feeling particularly hungry, try doing something else instead for say, 10 minutes - do something you like, besides eating.

These are things that have worked for me in the past. But I think you also have to take into consideration your genetics and just your own personal habits and work out your own personal diet/exercise program.

I'd rather have a visit, note or pretty picture
than an "I'll say a prayer" or a "god bless you."
Doesn't make me feel better, no meaning to me for sure.
Can't stop you from praying and blessing me,
and if that makes you feel better feel free.
But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
And let's all respect each other's feelings.
With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."
Thanks for this!
