Sometimes people don't have the time, or can't add a helpful suggestion. You have to take into consideration that everyone is here for the same reason: we all are having a rough time. If only one person follows you to the support room, maybe that's the only person in the chat who feel stable enough to do so at that time.

I know I chat a lot, but as for responding to posts, I don't like to do it too much unless I feel like I really have something of importance to add. Other than that, I mostly just read. Don't think that because a certain amount of people don't respond to your posts that you aren't supported or cared for.
