I am in my mid 40's and have been dx with ADHD for about 10 years (I always knew something was 'not right'). Over the years I have been prescribed several medications (i.e. Strattera, Concerta, Ritalin, Wellbutrin) by by primary care doctor. Either way, it is best to be prescribed medications by a doctor your trust (psychiatarist or regular doctor). It is also important that you know as much (do your own research on ADHD) about the disorder as you can, including information on various medications!!

I find that "long lasting" (or sustained release) medications work best for me. But I also have anxiety and depression, I believe as a result of my often times, out of control ADHD symtopms. I also have taken anti-depressants but along with the ADHD medication.

Good luck!
