Your Dad sounds like a very depressed and angry man. It is my understanding that when some men are feeling depressed and insecure then they become angry and lash out at those closest to them (I'm sure he doesn't act like an *** at work).

Probably moving out if you can is your best bet for your own peace of mind...I am very sorry for your Mom. It doesn't sound like he would be open to getting on medication, right??
