It seems to me that the best way to approach this is with optimism and LOTS of patience.
Credit yourself the fact that someone is interested enough TO seek further contact with you. Try not to seek cynical motives because of his need for secrecy (at this time)...it's FAR too early yet to even think those thoughts.
As far as your bp.....keep that to yourself, until he has proven himself worthy of your trust, which, might I add, WILL take much time and patience (and faith).
If you construct your thoughts seeking the negative, then that is EXACTLY what you WILL receive.

Give yourself a break. Allow yourself to be loved. However, tread slowly and focus on the good to be had.
