Look at the things you have and be grateful for them.
I am , but I'm STILL depressed . I used to have a cigarette when
I was stressed . I quit that . I used to have a few beers when
I felt down . I quit that . I used to eat junk food and sweets
when I was feeling low. I quit that . All because I thought it
would be a great step into feeling better about myself.
Well guess what . NOT. I need a smoke and a beer , how about
a pack of smokes and a 24 pk of beer . Just kidding , I would
never go back there , but it was a thought , just a thought.
Ranting again .....
I feel the same way as you do and I'm an emotional eater too (always prepared with either a chocolate cookie or a brownie). But the best thing is that you manage to get away from all those smoking and drinking. Even though they don't make you feel better, they won't affect your health. I mean... be healthy=be happy
I get depressed sometimes and I use to go outside and take a walk(with a dog would be better, but I never had the chance to have one). Take one during a good sunny day, it really helps.
Hope you feel better,
hugs
