I watch television maybe a few times a week at the most these days and when I do it's usually a dvd movie. Not because I find it influences me , but because my depression has taken the interest away. I used to like watching wildlife and nature shows , older comedy sitcoms of the 70's and 80's , late night talk shows like
Letterman and Carson , and live sports mostly.
But when it comes to movies , I can watch anything . Comedy , drama, thriller , horror , action , romance , western , it doesn't matter.
I am entertained by it . I use it as a source of entertainment .
I've seen thousands of movies over the years but I don't believe
I'm going to go on a ship , meet the love of my life , and sink to
the bottom of the ocean , or put on a cape and try and save the world , or grab an axe and start chopping up my neighbors.
It may have an effect on some people , but it doesn't effect me.
There are a lot of things that are said to have an influence on
a person's state of mind. Violent video games , they stopped making
western movies for a while because they claimed they were too violent . lol . Playing some vinyl records backwards produced satanic messages , etc. etc. All I can say is ,it's a good thing we can choose
to watch or not watch television . To remove it from society because
it MAY effect our health wouldn't be fair to the kiddies and their
Saturday morning cartoons .
