(((Freak)))...I had a friend who was tired of not having any dates. She did what I thought was the wierdest thing ever at the time...she joined like every club she could think of:
Reader's Theater
Bowling Team
Community Choir
Mime Club
Book Club
Nutrition Group
Church Young Singles
Ballroom dance team
NASCAR racing club
Fantasy Football League
Scrapbooking Society
Knitter's Corner
Trekkies Club
She was determined to no longer be lonely. She went crazy going to all these groups for about 3 months. Then some turned out to be more interesting to her than others and had more available singles and better friends (more in common with her). She dropped the bad groups and continuing going to the one's that she enjoyed.
She was not a stunning, hot babe but wanted to get a date. She wasn't a social butterfly but wanted more friends. She ended up marrying someone from Reader's Theater. They have been married for 10 years and have 2 kids.
I was really impressed by the way she went about this. By the way, a lot of the groups were free to join because she did not have a lot of money to put out and she lived on a bus route or rode her bike to the places (we live near a major college town).
Anyway, just some thoughts.
