Not sure if you looked into it, but sometimes insurances will cover Lunesta if you can prove you have failed on other meds. Your doctor would have to fill out a prior authorization form and then fax it to the insurance company and they make a determination within 3 business days as to whether or not they will pay for it. A lot of time it's in a higher tier because it's newer and doesn't have a generic. Of course the insurance company will opt to pay for the cheaper med but if you have tried it (and clearly you have since you're taking Ambien) they will often then go ahead and pay for the Lunesta. The only catch is you'll have a higher co-pay. It's still cheaper than paying out of pocket and clearly much better than going without sleep. Hang in there and check about getting a prior auth!!!
