When you're havig really dangerous thoughts and don't really know why, things can really exacerbate your cycling. You are coming into realization that cutting isn't getting you anywhere which is a huge step forward! However, you are finding this true because your thought process seems to look like it's just a quick release, which is true, but you are now going to help yourself find out exactly how to help yourself out. Have you tried writing/typing your emotions and then showing them versus trying to talk to someone face-to-face? Oftentimes, this can be a great theraputic approach because you don't back down on what gets said to you. You show your therapist what's going on and then you can work from there as far as creating a plan on how you can feel more settled and safer. This could also help you put your issues in a pile and help sort out some of your pressing triggers so that you can become more interpersonally effective.
Take care and try to stay safe,

"To dwell in the here and the now does not mean you never think about the past or responsibility, plan for the future. The idea is simply not to allow yourself to get lost in regrets about past or worries about the past or worries about the future. If you are firmly in the present moment, the past can be an object of inquiry, the object of your mindfulness by looking into the past, but you are still grounded in the present moment"
