I don't know your situation that well. If you think you can work this out, then delaying the rent is an option. On the other hand, I always think that no matter what else happens, as long as you're not out on the street, you can keep some kind of a life together. Unless you live out in the country somewhere, you can probably survive without a car better than without a home.
Do you have anyone who loves you enough to help you out with a couple hundred bucks? I know it hurts to ask, but that's part of life. If you have a cluttery apartment, have a garage sale to get some grocery money. (I just had a garage sale to pay for cleaning the carpet in the house I just rented.) But I see you're young, so maybe you haven't accumulated that much junk yet!
Anyway. This one's a toughie, and I don't envy you one bit. I know exactly what you're going through. But in the end, you have to decide what your priorities and options are. You seem like a sensible person, and I'm sure you will find your way through this. Believe in yourself. You will find a way.
