I think it's hard to talk to the people we see every day in our lives. It's often superficial. The reason why we're more open to our T-docs is that they've been trained to listen in a specific way and reinforce thoughts and ideas, whereas other people are often distracted or half listening or you're embarrassed to tell them what's going on in your head for fear of being judged. It's like, a therapist has heard it all, so what have I got to lose and they're professional and being paid to help me work through this. Other people can be impatient or downright indifferent.
