I'm 54, and my dad was somewhat OCD....undiagnosed, of course, setting clocks in the house to times which were unrecognizeable to any of us to him, somewhat compulsive checking, and an overwhelming obsession with religion to the neglect of us in the home. Though I say that, he was also very intelligent, though uneducated, a gifted musician, and also very kind and humble. I have fond memories of him.
I have recognized some of the obsessive traits in myself, particularly if I'm under prolonged stress....with obsessive thoughts which plague me, however I am on medication which has recently been upped and is helping.
