I think that talking about SI'ing is one thing. If they feel you are suicidal they can disclose it but as many have said - make sure that you state in the at the start of the conversation that you are not suicidal.

I once made the mistake of going to the hospital after I had cut - I needed stitches and they were able to hold me even after my therapist told them I was in no danger. They made me stay in ER for a few hours just to make sure I was calm and a psych came in to talk to me.

I think it's great that you want to talk to someone about it and get additional help and resources. I hope it is someone that you feel you can trust and has shown you in the past that they care. This is a really courageous thing that you are doing.
