kris, this still sounds like night terrors, but that doesn't take into account your schizophrenia or dissociative disorder. I don't have either of these, but I used to feel a cat crawling into bed with me. I had a cat, but it wasn't crawling into bed with me. Then I would semi-awaken to see my real room all around me, but to feel something behind me, some entity that I feared. Sometimes I would hear dogs barking behind me. The dream was recurring and progressive, and the entity progressed further and further around from behind me with each occurrence. Are you, by any chance, changing medications in any way. This was my causative factor, or sure seemed to be. To stop it, try to move some part of your body, just as you did. Then get up and walk around or do something different, to keep from falling back into the nightmare state. Just moving across the bed probably won't do it. Caring About You ~ billieJ
