Try doing all your caffeine in the morning, even if you have to go to bed earlier and start drinking coffee at 5:30 AM. Dowse it with cold chocolate mild and chug it down. Ask your doc about medication for narcolepsy for during the day. My pdoc gave this to me. It wasn't effective for me, because I am not sleepy, just fatigued/lacking energy. I'm wide awake, just can't do anything about it. But I think narcolepsy meds, such as provigil - there are others - are quite effective for actual sleepiness.
