I second and third this! I was diagnosed at 34 after being told at age 10 I was NOT ADD. When I told my extremely supportive boss, he said basically the same thing as I quoted. ADD was a PART of me, it was part of what made me, well me!

It is normal to have a negative reaction, but now you KNOW what it is, and can make decisions on treatment now that you know. It's ok to grieve for the years you thought some un-named thing was wrong with you and you didn't know what. But it is important to grieve, let go and move on. Don't let it bring you down...
