They have had these pain pumps for years. My daughter knows a lady in California who has had one for over 10 years now....she had back pain from getting shot (being a guard I think).....anyway, it worked the best for her. When my Mother was having pain after her cancer surgery, from when she broke her back when my Dad died (trying to lift him I think), my pain specialist was talking to me about putting my Mother on one of them, but she went downhill with the cancer so fast, it wasn't something that would have made any difference by that time.
I use the duragesic patches....am on a high dose of them....higher than anything most Dr's prescribe.....but it's wonderful.....evern 3 days to change the patches....never have to take meds or get pain shots....since 2003.....what a relief.....it's for my migraines that were constant.....never any relief from the pain until I got onto this dose of the patches....luckily I don't have a problem with fentynal like I do morphine (the itching from morphine & any of it's derivitives was impossible to cope with). It is so wonderful not having to take oral medication for the pain......what a difference....hope your pump works out.....it should give you a relief that you haven't been able to enjoy before now.
Best wishes,
Eskielover
