well, you need to plan ahead. purchase some types of non-perishable foods you enjoy eating but are easy to forget that you have in the house. for me, it's peanut butter, crackers, soup, oatmeal, ramen noodles, cinnamon toast, popcorn. some frozen foods are easy to forget about, too.
i can relate to the panicky feeling when hungry. do you like to cook from scratch?
