I know for me SI is an unhealthy coping mechanism when I find I am overwhelmed and can seem like the only thing that will work. But it is very temporary and addicting. Please don't fall into its trap. There are many healthy coping mechanisms that someone can help you use rather than SI. There is also a sticky on the top of the forum for things to do when you feel you want to SI. Maybe that will help too.
