Don't even get me started on those stupid charts!!!! When my daughter was born she was 10 lbs 4 oz and was 23 1/2 inches long. I gave birth to a toddler! Between the time she was born and her 6 week check up our regular Peds doctor had been promoted to the head of the department and we saw the brand spanking new one, right out of medical school.

She absolutely freaked out when she measured my daughter's head. She just kept repeating "she's too far above the 90 percentile." I kept saying her WHOLE body was above the 90 percentile. Nevertheless, she determined based upon this measurement she had water on the brain and was going to require medivacing to a hospital either in the PI or Hawaii and went about setting up emergency transportation for my daughter.

LUCKILY our regular peds doc walked by, saw how upset we were and poked his head in. He measured her head, all of ours (hubby, son and I) and said "she's fine, all of her measurement were equally above the 90%. Her head is slightly larger but so is her brother and father's."

She's now 20 years old, only ended up being five foot four and perfectly proportioned.

My twins on the other hand were teeny tiny at birth and through their toddler years and are now six four. They had to be in car seats long after their peers because it took so long for them to hit that 40 lb mark.

If he's healthy, and happy, don't let a chart tell you where he's supposed to be. He looks perfectly fine.
