Yes! This is so true for me. I LOVE to write (I was an English major in college!), but somehow never understood the point of journalling. T finally convinced me that if I could get things down on paper, they would stop swirling around in my head and I could get some peace. I tried it, and it was like magic...I had been dealing with a memory that kept going around and around in my head, and I finally forced myself to write it down (which was scary) and the swirling STOPPED.

BlueMoon, I can't believe (well, I can!) that your T discouraged 15 minutes of self-care a day! OMG! You deserve way more than 15 minutes of care a day.
