I'm very sorry to hear the bad news about your Mom having breast cancer. You're doing the right thing learning about it - educate yourself and your family. Vickie is right if they catch it early, before it has spread to other parts - then she'll be okay. If it's stage 3 then I don't think it has spread at this point.
They've come a long way in treatment compared to 20 yrs ago - when the mere mention of the smallest timour meant radical removal of the breast. I just saw on the news tonight they believe vitamin D helps prevent breast cancer(and other cancers) - so have your mom take a supplement of 2000 mg of vitD daily. Green tea is also great - full of anti- oxidents.
This will be a difficult time for your famlily but it's important that all of you pull together and support your mom. Now it's her families turn to take care of her. I'll pray for your mom and your family.
