I'm not the biggest expert on the topic, but it sounds like bulimia. The only real diference is as you said, you do it to feel better, not lose weight, yet in fact, most of the folks I know who gorge-purge, while they may not realize it at first, usually start to see that they are in fact doing much the same thing.
To see a real talk-doc and show him what you wrote is an excellent idea. Try also keeping track of when you tend to do this more and when it is less of a need.
