I have kinda the opposite problem. My boss has been accused of showing favortism to a couple of us because he has us on more projects then anyone else. He's been accused of it with me becuase he has put me on commitees and I've been included in meetings where every other attendee has been a higher level than I. He isn't really showing favortism as such. He is really good at knowing our strengths and playing them up.

Could it be your boss is concerned about relying too much on you? Could he be worried he asks too much and gives you too much to do? Think of it this way (I am), he values you so much, he doesn't want to burn you out!
So true about it being like High school sometimes...it totally is! LOL
People have been jealous of me in the past because (we work in a call center) I hadn't been on the phones for a long time because I was doing reports and other things for the boss man. Not a problem now because I am going to be back on the phones on Monday.
Yes, my boss always plays up our strengths and even has us believing things we know to be false...he is a very good salesman.
I know he worries about putting too much on my shoulders, so that is very likely. I guess I just never thought of it that way, really.
He is pretty awesome. I guess I shouldn't be too jealous.
Thanks!
