Absolutely!
Develop a sleep routine, and stick to it. Even if you can't shut your thinking off, you can rest your body by lying in bed.
A good herb is valerian. I use the drops in some tea an hour before bedtime, and then take about an 800+ mg tablet at bed.
I also use a brain wave tape/cd... it puts the brain into delta wave. Takes a little practice to block those thoughts, but once it works...
Do work on thought stopping. Keep a notebook by the bed and write down anything important that you can not afford to forget about... the rest stop thinking about by telling yourself it's (11 pm) there's nothing I can do tonight to change or improve or work on that. That's rational thinking and can help your brain leave it alone.
Find out if a hot bath, camomile, passion flower herbs, or such help you. Slow down your life an hour before bedtime... no violent tv programs (no tv at all if you can do that) no activity/excercise or exciting books or radio programs. Work on breathing more deeply and slowly, and tell yourself you're preparing for bed. Get your clothes out for the next day, gather your materials (if you have to take some with you) for the next day so none of that keeps you concerned.
If you find you only sleep a few hours anyway, don't stress out about it... tell yourself as you watch the clock tick away that you're going to get some sleep and then you'll wake feeling refreshed from it.
Hope it settles down for you soon.
