What people think about you has nothing to do with anything about you. It has everything to do with the way you make them feel about themselves. People we look up to can make us feel ugly by comparing us to others. Or we can do it ourselves by comparing ourselves to others. Adults who compare children to other children are wrong and can do a lot of unnecessary damage. And we cannot compare ourselves to others, because, in truth, we do not know what we look like to others. Our perceptions are distorted by self-esteem issues.
