Your legs will probably hurt until you get used to the running, mine always did. The aches come from oxygen circulating into new areas where it hasn't gone before, at least that was what I was told once. The pain will get better and the ankles will get better with time. Soaks in a warm to hot bath in the evenings will help the soreness. Deepen your stretches, lengthen them, too, gentley. Can't emphasize the stretches enough. Best of luck.
