There are federal laws governing what information employers can give out regarding their former employees to perspective employers - basically, they are only supposed to confirm the dates of your employment, your job classification, the duties you performed, your beginning and ending salaries, and the reason for your departure.

I'm rusty here - been a while since I worked in Human Resources - I will search online for the guidelines and add info or a link later. Anyway, when your interviewer contacts you, you can inquire about what information was provided.
