I've had thyroid problems that started back when I was about 20 years old. I was first put on synthroid back then.

Since then my thyroid has been a very big problem. Probably a problem with my pregnancy as well.

Anyway, the past few years especially for me my thyroid has really gone crazy ...I was told I was hyperthyroid because of the bloodwork. I was showing signs though for hypothyroid.

They sent my for an uptake and when I went for this scan it went completely the other way (or so I was told at the time).

I was simply told I have hashimotos and put on meds for it. Also, I have nodules (3) that need to be monitored with an ultrasound...if they get larger they need to be checked.

After some time I became extremely fatigued to the point that I couldn't do anything for a years time and was in a lot of pain. My thyroid went crazy. I got a goiter and they couldn't regulate it. I had a lot of problems during this time.

I went to a new doctor. He went through a ton of my tests and found out that during that time of the uptake scan ...that it was "void" because I had gone for an mri scan and had dye just prior to this test, which would conflict with this test and that is why they do not have an accurate diagnosis as to what the exact problem is.

So basically for now I'm on synthroid and I go monthly to get my thyroid checked because it's so "out of whack".

I think that my thyroid has a lot to do with my mental health.

I read fried's question and thought to myself how many times thyroid problems come up for people who suffer with depression etc.

Just wondering if anybody had thoughts on this.

I usually don't talk about my physical health problems because I find that side of me exhausting so i choose to ignore it if it isn't bothering me.

If I'm getting by ...then I am like great.

I was supposed to go to my doctor back in april. So I'm long over due.

Anyways...sorry this is long winded.
