I am scheduled to have my thyroid removed at the end of the month. The mood aspect of the thyroid, or lack of it, scares me to death. I have dealt with severe depression for years and I am scared that this will put me over the edge with regards to my "treatment resistant depression". I have spoken with my gp though, and she feels that being on the high side with the bloodwork is a plus regardless of what the labs say are "within normal range" I am seeing a new pdoc in a couple of weeks and hopfully she will be on the same page with my gp. I also have an endo, but have only seen him once and will not see him again until 6 weeks after the surgery. All my thyroid labs have come back normal over the years, but maybe ::crossing fingers:: my thyroid IS one of the problems, and things will change for the better. Well, thanks for listening and good luck to you!
