I know how easy it is to get into that trap of over generalizing.....especially in a fight with my husand.....looking back when I was with him......I would find myself so frustrated by the things I continually found him doing that I would say "you do this all the time".....when it really wasn't ALL the time....but by the end....it really FELT like it was.

When the world around us feels that everyone is doing something.....we tend to not think about the rest of the world that isn't touching us when we are so focused on the hurt we are feeling.

It is important not to overgeneralize like that as it does give others something to dispute because it never really is ALL or NEVER or EVERYONE or NO ONE.....& people start to NOT listen when over generalizations are used as it tends to give less credibility to what we are saying.
