My husband is overly sensitive...with me anyway...so I tend to avoid all sweeping statements because anything I ask him to correct or change he views as a persoanl attack. I have to be very specific with what is bothering me..without exagerrating...and I have to say it VERY softly, almost apologetic and I still get yelled at. He actually did burn our house down but I still got yelled at for informing him that he wouldn't even apologize if he burned down the house..which he didn't and I always felt that I wasn't allowed to get mad at him for it. If I were to use sweepign statements I would be in even worse trouble. They are definitely annoying sometimes, especailly when over exagerrated and over used but I can see how sometimes it's just easier than always having to be super specific...at least in my house. Sorry if I was off topic but I've never been in a forum or anything like it before. I just thought I'd share my experiences.
Thanks for this!
