Everybody is different, so you might have to try them all. However, tricyclics, though my personal favorite for treatment of depression, do increase your appetite and I would not use them for years on end, as this could possibly, possibly led to hallucinations. That's usually after years. Norpramine generic - can't remember what generic name is - is the least sedating of the tricyclics. Prozac has success with some people, flops with others - either putting them to sleep or making them run amuk. lol. Celexa and Paxil both target the brain neurotransmitter Serotonin [as do tricyclics, come to think of it, but in a different way]. I am not sure whether either of these also targets the neurotransmitter Norepinephrine, as some of the newer atypical antidepressants [SSRI's/SSNRI's] do.
