By training, I am an environmental toxicologist. In many ways, I have superior training in some areas of physiology than do most doctors. It isn't a great stretch for me to apply my training to drug metabolism. The concepts are the same. The physiology is the same.
I'm also rather lucky to have a brain that integrates data. I picture it like a 3-D web of information. I don't have a photographic memory. I have an integrated memory. Pulling on a mental thread pulls the network with it.
I am also a skilled researcher. With the whole internet at my fingertips, I can find and verify information very quickly. I can tell the good info from the bad, based on my experience.
I'm happy to "share my brain" with people. It's a win win situation for me. I review a topic before I answer, so I benefit with enhanced clarity within my own comprehension. And then I try to give a clear but informed opinion.
It seems to be useful for all concerned.
Best,
Lar
