I am not offended by it at all. I actually think it's kind of cute...and can represent my moods more often than not.
Yes, it can be perceived as sexist, but so could the "sexy" mood. I would say that it depends on the intent of it's use. If it is meant in a malicious way, that is not appropriate and IS insulting and hurtful. If it is meant in jest and all parties are in agreement to it's use, I think it's okay. The more fuel we give to the misogynistic undertones/meanings of the word the bigger the fire will get. Take away the fuel and the fire will die.
It's just a word....and it can only hurt you if you give it the power to do so.
