I am a new member at Psych Central

I am 33 years old and was diagnosed with ADDHD when I was 6 years old. I started Ritalin with I was in 6th grade and was labeled with a leering disability. I did not like taking my medications and was embarrassed going to nurses office to take my pills. I stopped the Ritalin when I was in 9th grade.

I just started taking the Ritalin again but I am still dealing with the day to day issues. For example; appointment, saving money, paying bills, keeping thoughts in my head for more than 5 minutes i.e. this post, and staying on track. I seem to jump from one topic to the next and have a very hard time understanding and comprehend both when I am reading/memorizing and listening to instructions. I am always side track, from thought to another.

Do you think the Ritalin is working, or should I try something else?
