We have had my step-son for almost 2 weeks. He was diag'd with ADHD years ago. He is 9 now and there are some things I am noticing that I cannot associate with ADHD.

- He chews on his shirt (just under his chin), on his sleeves and even on his pants when his knees are up. He is putting holes in everything and we just bought him new clothes.
- He is CONSTANTLY humming and making music with his mouth.
- He is not hungry throughout the day, but at night he is "staaaaarving" and we can't give him enough food...he's like a bottomless pit.
- Last week he was in school for 4 days and had to be picked up early on two of those days for hitting other kids.
- He says that the kids are "too noisy" and it hurts his ears.
- He is lacking social skills completely. He has no idea what to do when other kids are around so he just runs around.
- He is so focused on himself that he never even notices that other people are having a conversation. He only talks about stuff HE likes and doesn't care much about others' likes.

Ideas? We are going to take him to a dr. soon. We have to fill out the paperwork and send it back before we can even make an appointment.

Thanks!
