I agree, don't even try to pretend it didn't happen! That's part of the lie of the abuser... making you think on one hand nothing happened, and on the other hand you deserved it. All lies.

a safe place... full of support and caring and counsel. The ones I know of, you have your own room for you and your children, (or you might share if it's just you) and basics are provided. toiletries, bathing facilities, meals... the actual addresses are not public so the abusive ppl cannot track you down. Police DO know the addresses. Support services for job, clothes, finding a place to live, new schools, physical (medical) treatment and ongoing counseling are also available either through the safehouse or their contacts/agencies they work with.
