While I do take meds, I am of the belief that they are not for everyone. However, I found by combining taking medication with behavioral therapy (meditaion, stress reduction) has worked best, rather than one or the other...
With meditation, I have found with racing thoughts (helps I found out I am ADHD too) that it is almost impossible (for me anyway) to do the "totally clear your mind and think of nothing" type meditation. However, there are guided and "free flowing" meditations out there. (Free flowing meaning you allow thoughts to "flow" through your mind, not "attaching" to any of them.)
So even though I do take meds, I hope this helps!
