A lot of the drug names are the same. My experience is you will need to speak pretty good spanish. I have never tried to buy birth control, but have had to buy other prescriptions while in Mexico. You may want to just buy online or go to your GP. Mexico is a Catholic country; I am not sure that they wouldn't frown upon you for buying it.
