I think this would be a great question for T!!! 
I wouldn't even begin to even offer my opinion on this based on two sentences from a "novel".
My suggestion is to make a list of questions/issues you would like to explore with T, take it with you when you go and as you and T get to know one another you can work down the list.
You are on a path of self discovery however that path must be walked down and evaluated by you. No one else here is really qualified to make that kind of an opinion/judgement.
