(((Justfloating))))) I felt the same way you did for some time. Then I found what topic was really "mine". Suddenly I could focus because I was getting the degree for ME, not because everyone expected me to.
My mother is already starting to try to stress my son out about "Not being able to focus on what he really wants" and deciding he doesn't want to be a vet. The kid is 15! The thing is, it's not what he wants that she thinks counts, it's what she wants. I have told her to lay off and comiserated with my kid, who luckily just shruggs and said "Whatever".
I agree with Rohag, but I do think it will get a lot better the closer you get to being able to study "your" stuff. Just some of those hoops we gotta jump through.
