If you are experiencing the lack of energy because of depression, I agree with the exercise idea, but I would go for a run instead. I recommend finding a group of friends to run with on a regular basis that will encourage you to get out and do it, even if you're feeling kind of down. Endorphins are the best way to naturally give you a boost, in my opinion. I don't recommend caffeine too early or too late in the day because it will cause you to "crash" in the late morning or keep you up at night, causing you to lose that needed rest. If running isn't your deal, I like the funny movie idea, too

However, if you think you may be coming down with a cold, you should listen to your body and rest. If you're sleep deprived, try taking a mid-afternoon nap that allows you to go through ONE REM cycle before waking up (for most people this is between 60-90 minutes). Then go to bed at a reasonable hour that night. That should give you just enough of a head start on your sleep that night without disrupting your sleep schedule.
