Sounds like you need to get in to see a psychiatrist so he can evaluate you and perhaps come up with a working diagnosis. He will specialize in medications for various disorders.

General doctors don't usually have enough background in psychiatric medications and will generally end up referring you to a psychiatrist anyway.
