I had been seeing T for about a year, recently moved from the area but we had planned to have occasional sessions when I was in town. About 6 months prior to my seeing her on my own, my daughter and I did family therapy with her for many months.

I've been hearing about a wonderful young man my daughter met at the beginning of the semester at college and they care very much for eachother. She just brought him over for dinner and in asking about his family and such, I put two and two together... he is T's son. D didn't realize this because she hasn't spent time with his parents... yet. I told them when I realized it, though I suppose if T already knew this, she wouldn't have been able to tell her son that D and I were her clients because of confidentiality?

What are our roles now? Is T not supposed to see me as a client? Is she not supposed to spend time with D with her son? If our kids are together long-term, are we supposed to avoid seeing eachother socially?
