My T tends to like to work until the end too...ESPECIALLY when we are in really deep stuff...I think he is reluctant to end, because I am not always able to go that deep, and he wants to work as much as he can with me when i am able to let myself be that vulnerable.
BUT! I really DO need about 5 minutes at the end to just get grounded, refocused, etc. T always fills out a receipt at the end, I pay him, we chit chat, and sometimes that is enough - it's like a little routine that says to my brain "time to switch gears" - but if it's a really heavy session, it's not enough.
I've asked my T to let me know when we only have a few minutes left. He almost always gives me a "10 minute warning" now. I think bringing it up with your T is a good idea. And if you've already brought it up, bring it up again. Sometimes my T needs to hear things like that more than once before it finally sinks in
