I know a lot of women here in Vegas that have thyroid issues - three women at my job have had to have their thyroids removed, & my oldest sister's thyroid is 'dead'. I don't know about my coworkers, but my sister seems depressed & has a hoarding issue with cats... I can't diagnose for sure one way or another. It seems to be pretty common here in NV.
Every thyroid test I've gotten (and I end up w/1 - 2 a year because of my fat) has come back normal.
(Come to find out, though, that consumption of water contaminated w/rocket fuel ingredients in childhood & puberty can lead to thyroid problems in adulthood - and Lk. Mead is full of it :O I don't risk it - I drink bottled water from CA).
