I've been reading posts on this website for a few months and must admit the exchange of information is of great help. Thanks to all for sharing !!

I have recently been diagnosed with GAD(generalized anxiety disorder) and was curious as to what meds anybody out there has had success with ?? I have a prescription for Xanax and Trazodone(for sleeping). The Xanax seems to relieve the anxiety for the short term but I'm reluctant to take it everyday for the long haul. I'm not crazy about the Trazodone, though it does help me sleep, but the groggyness the next morning is too much. I was thinking about trying some sort of SSRI as I believe I'm also suffering from mild depression. My Dr may be willing to start me off with Prozac (due to its price, I belong to an HMO). I've also read about Buspar being a possibility. Any thoughts or reccommentations would be helpful. Thanks so much !!!
