I bought a bottle of Sundown 500mg Niacin capsules.

I was wondering why Sundown would have 500mg as a daily dosage when I have read that a much lower amount would be more appropriate? Is there something I am not understanding? Is what I have time released? doesn't say.

any help on this would be great
